Lexington is getting a city flower!

AIB Lex has been working with area horticulturists, garden clubs, gardeners and garden centers for nearly a year, investigating the best that nature has to offer to identify as our trademark flower. Now it’s time to vote!

We asked for three long-blooming, sun/drought tolerant and suitable for both mass and individual plantings. Three recommendations have risen to the top, and these are the ones we present to you. Purple Coneflower, an ever-popular native: Blue Catmint, a lovely front-of-the-border ground cover or bulk planting; and Blue Salvia, a punch of blue wherever you put it.
